Care for your carnivorous plants
We often hear that carnivorous plants are difficult to keep, but that's not true at all! As long as you keep a few basic principles and care tips in mind, most species are actually very easy. Unfortunately, many garden centers don't provide the right information, but we've been growing our own plants for almost 15 years, so we're happy to give you the very best advice.
The 3 basic rules
Stick to these three rules and most carnivorous plants will take care of themselves.
Use rainwater, distilled or demineralized water. Carnivorous plants don't like lime.
Most species prefer a very bright location. Sunlight ensures beautiful colors and traps.
Only repot in blonde peat, dried sphagnum moss or our special carnivorous plant soil mix. Never use fertilisers, or only use low-dose fertilisers specifically for carnivorous plants. Carnivorous plants grow on nutrient-poor soils!
