Sarracenia flava

Sarracenia flava is a carnivorous plant that thrives in our climate. This pitcher plant blooms in spring, and its flowers are yellow. These are followed by spring pitchers. Its common name is the yellow pitcher plant, but there are 7 described varieties. There are completely green plants, as well as plants with beautiful red veins, plants with a spot in the neck, and also entirely red and/or orange plants. The varieties are var. flava, var. atropurpurea, var. cuprea, var. maxima, var. ornata, var. rubricorpora, and var. rugelii, and these can also interbreed with each other.

These trumpet pitcher plants are supplied bare-rooted and must be potted upon arrival.
