More than a standard webshop
Carnivorous Plant Shop cultivates and sells carnivorous plants with the aim of offering an assortment for both the novice enthusiast and the collector looking for rare species. You'll find more than just a typical garden center plant here. By largely growing the plants ourselves, we guarantee the best quality. The genera offered include Sarracenia, Dionaea, Drosera, Darlingtonia and Cephalotus.
Expertise from practice and science
My name is Killian. At the age of 7, I started growing my own tomatoes in a small greenhouse, which laid the foundation for a lifelong passion for plants. In my teenage years, I bought my first Venus flytrap. After some online research on how to care for this special plant, it grew bigger and bigger! The collection quickly expanded into a professional specialization. This passion continued into my studies: after a BSc in Agro- and Biotechnology in Ghent, I obtained my MSc in Plant Sciences in Wageningen. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in plant sciences. Thanks to various scientific publications and over 15 years of cultivation experience, I combine theoretical knowledge with practical expertise and can offer you personal professional advice on caring for carnivorous plants.In search of unique species
I specialize in Sarracenia and other hardy species. To find the most unique plants, I regularly visit collections of other collectors and observe these plants in their natural habitat, such as in the United States. This allows us to offer plants with special colors and shapes that you won't easily find elsewhere. I am constantly looking for new genetics to refine the collection.
Sustainable in-house cultivation
Almost all our plants are grown traditionally at our own hobby nursery. This is done without much technology, which means I am daily involved in the manual care of the plants. This means that I literally handle every plant during repotting. This close involvement ensures that we only ship plants that are in top condition. In addition to our own cultivation, we only work with carefully selected partner growers who maintain the same high standards, always with a focus on sustainability and plant vitality.Secure ordering and personal advice
With delivery throughout the EU and no minimum order amount, we make this hobby accessible to everyone. The plants are packaged by myself and shipped directly from our own stock.
