If you are looking for a Sarracenia that not only grows large but produces pitchers throughout the entire season, then 'Quicksilver' is a great candidate. This tall hybrid is known for its large, robust traps and the number of windows that develop later in the season.

What makes it special?
'Quicksilver' combines vigorous growth with a striking seasonal transformation. The plant produces large, sturdy traps early in the growing season. At first, their color is relatively subdued, but as autumn approaches, more and more white windows and veins appear. Eventually, the traps can develop a striking light to almost predominantly white appearance.

The hybrid is described as a vigorous form of Sarracenia areolata crossed with x moorei, possessing the robustness and allure of its strong parental lines.

The story behind it
'Quicksilver' is not an officially registered cultivar, but a clone circulating within the hobby. Its genetic background is (Sarracenia x areolata 'Hans Luhrs' × Sarracenia 'Adrian Slack') clone 1.

Our plants originate from Gary Wheeler, who is also cited as the source for this clone. However, Gary likely purchased these plants as seedlings from another grower. Therefore, we deliberately keep the history to the verifiable information rather than stating a specific original breeder as fact.

Characteristics:

• Height: Forms tall traps; the exact final height may vary depending on the individual plant and growing conditions.
• Appearance: Tall, sturdy traps that develop increasing white areolation throughout the season and can become strikingly white in the autumn. The plant is a vigorous grower.
