S. 'Phone'
Sarracenia Fon (Disp4 Matt Soper× Peaches): New hybrid
This is one of the newer hybrids cultivated by Dutch growers. A hybrid that we are keen to include in our assortment because it truly possesses something special. Fonn is the result of a deliberate cross: S.cv Disp4 (one of the largest S. x catesbaei selections) crossed with S.cv Peaches by Matt Soper (Hampshire Carnivorous Plants). Both parent plants have a reputation for massive, impressive pitchers, and that genetic heritage is now fully present in this cross.
What makes her special? It is the combination of rapid growth rate and size. So, Fonn not only grows quickly but also becomes large.
The story behind it: Fon is named after the person who has been working at Matt Soper's nursery for years, and not just anyone. This is the person who handles the daily maintenance, and we value that respect for craftsmanship and experience.
Characteristics:
- Height: Heritage from large parent plants; expect imposing traps.
- Appearance: Strong, healthy growth with full potential for maximum size.
- Growth habit: Grows quickly; ideal as a parent plant for further selections and crosses.
- Hardiness: Standard Sarracenia care; hardy outdoors with appropriate preparation.
-
Placement: Direct sunlight for optimal growth.
