x moorei ('Leah Wilkerson' x 'Adrian Slack') KD-MO40A
Sarracenia x moorei KD-MO40A: A typical moorei form with a dark throat and lime-green pitchers.
The story behind it: This plant was selected early in the seedling stage for its vibrant colors. We also sometimes called the plant "Dutch Legacy" because the seedlings originated from Dutch grower Laurens Eggen and the plant initially reminded us very much of the sought-after cultivar 'Legacy'. After observing the plant for a few years, we must admit that the plant indeed looks distinctly different from Legacy. When it comes to the largest "throat patch", Legacy clearly wins. However, the combination of the lime-green color with the dark brown to black blotch still makes this a unique moorei from the MO40 line that has remained in our collection all these years.
Characteristics:
- Height: Standard moorei, large white hoods with a blotch, 70-80cm+.
- Appearance: White with a strong brown blotch, typical moorei shape.
- Growth habit: Hybrid vigor, reliable.
- Care requirements: As much direct sunlight as possible; standard Sarracenia outdoor care. For the brightest colors, an unheated greenhouse is even better.
A plant for anyone who wants a good lime-green moorei.
