This impressive plant, selected by the renowned Czech breeder Miroslav Srba, is well on its way to becoming an absolute legend.

The story behind it
It is a selective cross between the iconic 'Adrian Slack' and the legendary 'Leah Wilkerson'. Miroslav Srba selected this specific clone for its extraordinary qualities. The name is a direct tribute to the powerful Atlas V rocket: a fitting name for a plant whose pitchers shoot straight up like a rocket. The top of the cups turns a spectacular white with a razor-sharp, deep red vein pattern that contrasts beautifully with the rest of the tube. Like its parents, it is a strong, vital grower that puts on a breathtaking show in spring.

Characteristics:

• Height: Can grow up to 90+ cm tall
  
• Appearance: Snow-white hoods with an intense, deep red contrast and a sleek, upright form.
  
• Hardiness: Like most Sarracenias, it can be kept outdoors (with proper care). For the most intense colors, a conservatory or greenhouse is recommended.
  
• Placement: Full sun. The more direct light, the whiter the hood and the deeper the red veins become.
• Throat blotch: Like its parent 'Leah Wilkerson', a well-expressed 'Atlas 5' in full sun develops a deep red, almost velvety blotch in the throat (under the hood). This, combined with the bright white, gives the plant an incredibly beautiful look.
