As the name might suggest, this is known in Dutch as the Cape sundew. This plant therefore originates from South Africa. The Cape sundew or Drosera capensis has been known for years as the most robust carnivorous plant for beginners, which is virtually indestructible. The D. capensis can even tolerate light frost and will regrow from its roots. However, we recommend keeping it above freezing.
