Dionaea G14 (Dirk Ventham's Giant): The classic Venus flytrap, but just a little bit better. This is simply a Venus flytrap that does everything well and grows larger than the typical garden center Venus flytrap. G14 'Dirk Ventham's Giant' is an old selection originally cultivated by Dirk Ventham, known for its trap color and size.

What makes her special? It's actually very simple. This is a typical Venus flytrap: bright green, solid growth, but just a bit more of everything. The mature traps develop a deep red interior that contrasts with the bright green exterior, and the teeth are somewhat longer and finer than what you're used to from the standard variety. Not exotic, not mutated, just a better version of what you already know.

The story behind it: This is not a new cross or an extremely mutated plant. This is a plant that has been circulating in nurseries for decades because it is simply a good, straightforward plant. It is a strong grower with blood-red teeth, especially in late summer.
