Blonde peat 12L
12L blonde peat for carnivorous plants
Let's get straight to the point: you often see small bags of "special soil for carnivorous plants" online at hefty prices. The truth? In 9 out of 10 cases, it's just this exact blonde peat, sometimes with a little perlite mixed in. Save yourself the hassle and the money; with this bag, you have the basic foundation you need. This is the same soil we use in the nursery.
Why blonde peat (and not regular potting soil)?
Carnivorous plants naturally grow in poor, acidic bogs. Regular potting soil is full of fertilizers, which these plants absolutely cannot tolerate; their roots will immediately burn. This blonde peat is the solution:
Nicely acidic: The low pH value is exactly what they need.
Unfertilized: No added junk, just pure nature.
Sponge effect: It retains water excellently, yet remains airy enough for the roots.
How to use it?
This 12-liter bag is perfect for potting or repotting a few plants. You can use it purely, but some hobbyists add a little perlite themselves to make the soil extra airy and prevent it from compacting in the long run.
Tip: Don't feel like mixing it yourself or buying perlite separately? Then take a look at our ready-made soil mix. This is the same high-quality peat, but already mixed with the ideal amount of perlite for you. Much easier.
Golden tip: Always moisten the peat well in a bucket (with rainwater!) before putting it in the pot. Dry peat is rather water-repellent; by kneading it first in a bucket of water, you ensure it is ready for immediate use.
Features:
Contents: 12 liters.

Just the honest basic soil without the marketing nonsense. Exactly what your plants want.
