Utricularia bisquamata is a bladderwort species with beautiful flowers. At first glance, this plant may not seem carnivorous. This is because the traps are underground! Bladderworts have hollow, bladder-shaped traps filled with air. Around the trap, there are tiny tentacles, and if these are touched, the trap door opens, causing water to flow in, along with the prey. The prey often consists of small creatures.
