S. "Ariane"

The Sarracenia 'Ariane' is one of those plants that is just right in terms of size. She is not as gigantic as a 'Leah Wilkerson', but certainly not a small plant. She is a beautiful medium-height grower that stands out for her deep, dark red colours and her neat shape.

Why the 'Ariane' is a good choice:
Medium height: She grows taller than the truly low varieties, but remains compact enough to stand firmly upright. This always makes the plant look well-groomed and full.

Intense colouring: With sufficient sunlight, the pitchers turn deep dark red from top to bottom. Especially the 'lips' and hoods get that almost purplish glow that contrasts beautifully with the green base.

Strong grower: The 'Ariane' is a healthy plant that forms a beautiful full clump of pitchers during the season.

Easy to maintain
This cultivar is very forgiving and therefore ideal for both beginners and advanced growers. Because the pitchers are a bit sturdier, they also stay in good shape outdoors in wind and rain. In summer, she is an active catcher that effortlessly snatches flies and wasps from your garden or balcony.

Size: Medium height; a beautiful, full grower.

Colour: Beautiful transition from green to deep, dark red.

Location: The more sun, the redder she becomes. A spot in full sun is therefore perfect.

Water: Like all Sarracenias: always keep wet with rainwater.

A stylish, robust plant that looks great in a bog garden or a beautiful pot on the terrace. Not too big, not too small, but just striking enough.
