Personal advice
The common English name for this pitcher plant is "The purple pitcherplant," and looking at its color, that's certainly no lie! This Sarracenia purpurea is also known as one of the most winter-hardy carnivorous plants in existence. The plant naturally occurs as far north as Canada. Therefore, this plant is an ideal candidate to be kept outdoors all year round in our climate. Unlike some other pitcher plants, this carnivorous plant does not have a "lid" above the pitcher. This is because the plant specifically utilizes rainwater collection so that prey easily drowns.
