Blond peat (loose) for carnivorous plants

Let's get straight to the point: you often see small bags of "special soil for carnivorous plants" online at hefty prices. The truth? In 9 out of 10 cases, it's simply this exact blond peat, sometimes with a little perlite mixed in. Save yourself the trouble and the money; with this bag, you have the basic material you need. This is the same soil we use in our nursery.

Why blond peat (and not regular potting soil)?
Carnivorous plants naturally grow in poor, acidic bogs. Regular potting soil is full of fertilizers, which these plants absolutely cannot tolerate; their roots would burn immediately. This blond peat is the solution:

Nicely acidic: The low pH value is exactly what they need.

Unfertilized: No added rubbish, just pure nature.

Sponge effect: It retains water excellently, yet remains airy enough for the roots.

How do you use it?
This blond peat is perfect for potting or repotting a few plants. You can use it purely, but some hobbyists add a little perlite themselves to make the soil extra airy and prevent it from compacting in the long run.

Tip: Don't feel like mixing it yourself or buying perlite separately? Then take a look at our ready-made soil mix. That's the same high-quality peat, but already mixed for you with the ideal amount of perlite. Much easier.

Golden tip: Always thoroughly wet the peat in a bucket (with rainwater!) before putting it in the pot. Dry peat is quite water-repellent; by kneading it first in a bucket of water, you ensure it is immediately ready for use.

Features:

Content: 3l, 5l, 10l or 20l.

Quality: High-quality sphagnum peat, unfertilized.

Suitable for: Venus flytraps, Sarracenia, Drosera (Sundew) and more.

Just the honest basic soil without the marketing nonsense. Exactly what your plants want.
