Beginner Plants

In this category, we have made a selection of various carnivorous plants that are very easy to care for and are therefore ideal for beginners. We have made a personal selection from the most beautiful commercial carnivorous plant hybrids that have also proven to be resilient. With us, they continue to grow for some time so that they are strong before they are sold.

To make the right choice, there is a division between plants that can be placed outdoors (hardy) and plants that can be placed indoors (indoor).

Frequently asked questions when buying your first carnivorous plant

Can I put an outdoor plant indoors and vice versa?

Yes! An outdoor plant grows perfectly well indoors, provided you have a south-facing window and keep it cool in winter (preferably <15°C). They will then grow a bit slower than in full sun outdoors. An indoor plant can also be placed outdoors in summer, but do not put tropical species (e.g., Nepenthes) in direct full sun.

How is the plant shipped?

The plants in this beginner category are shipped in pots and packaged in such a way that there is no damage to the leaves during shipping. We also have a 100% delivery guarantee; if something unexpectedly goes wrong, we will resolve it quickly for you.

Can I plant different varieties together in one pot?

Yes, but it's better to group indoor varieties together and outdoor varieties together. Indoor and outdoor varieties often have slightly different care needs.

What all do I get? Do I need to buy extras (soil, pot)?

The plants in this category already come in a pot. You can repot them when the roots grow out of the pot, using our carnivorous plant soil mix. You essentially only need a tray to place the pot on.

How big will my plant get?

The adult size is indicated on each product page. You can also filter by size (0-20cm, 20-40cm, etc.) using the filters.

How do I care for my plant?

You will receive a care sheet with tips in the packaging to make care easy. For detailed info: see also our care page.
