Het is een kruising tussen de bekerplanten \u003cem\u003eNepenthes ampullaria\u003c\/em\u003e en \u003cem\u003eNepenthes rafflesiana\u003c\/em\u003e. Deze vleesetende plant valt vooral op door de vlekjes op de bekers.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eDoordaat het een kruising is tussen twee laagland (denk aan een stomige jungle) soorten wil dit zeggen dat de plant vooral houdt van een plekje met een hoge luchtvochtigheid. Daarom is deze vleesetende plant uitermate geschikt voor een terrarium.
